Envision Perdido is a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to creating a shared community commitment to preserve Perdido’s culture, protect its natural beauty, and balance progress with local values and environmental stewardship.

Envision Perdido invests in foundational research and community engagement to bring this vision to life. Together, residents shape the conversation about Perdido’s future—and Envision Perdido’s work is far from done. While volunteer efforts and pro-bono support drive much of our progress, some critical work carries ongoing financial costs. With your help, we can continue to fund research, relationships, and community collaboration needed to turn shared values into lasting impact.

What We've Learned

Through research studies, local partnerships, and community-wide surveys, we’ve identified some of the key needs and values that Perdido residents said define their community:

  • Residents want to preserve the unique character of Perdido. There is a clear desire to avoid overdevelopment, maintain low-density living, and enhance public amenities that serve residents first.
  • Perdido contributes more than it receives. The community statistically generates more tax revenue per capita than any other in Escambia County. Yet, essential services and amenities—like beaches and parks, emergency services, stormwater infrastructure, and local planning input—remain underfunded.
  • Perdido’s planning and infrastructure are overdue for attention. Road projects, flood control, and infrastructure have been overlooked for years, and residents endure the consequences. At the same time, the community pays millions in taxes and fees that are not reinvested in the community.

Envision Perdido aims to help residents make meaningful progress toward the shared vision by partnering with community leaders, local governments, and state governments. Let’s work together within existing frameworks to accomplish great things for Perdido.
